După ce descoperă că iubitul ei este căsătorit, o femeie (Cameron Diaz) încearcă să îşi refacă viaţa distrusă. Dar, când o cunoaşte întâmplător pe soţia înşelată de acesta (Leslie Mann), îşi dă seama că are multe în comun cu ea, iar marea ei inamică devine cea mai bună prietenă a ei. Descoperirea unei a treia aventuri (Kate Upton) le determină pe cele trei femei să pregătească în comun răzbunarea asupra ticălosului care le-a minţit şi le-a înşelat pe toate trei.

Filmul începe în anul 2012, când oamenii trăiesc într-o lume dezvrăjită şi nu mai cred în poveşti şi-n Zburători. Ultimul dintre aceştia, Zanoni (Gabriel Duţu) se afla refugiat într-un vechi conac boieresc, impăcându-se cu ideea că fetele nu mai visează să fie răpite si „plimbate cu motorul". La insistenta bunului său prieten, Manolică (Constantin Cojocaru) – un fost zburator blocat intre lumi, Zanoni pleacă în căutarea unei noi idile. Din întâmplare, ajunge la concertul unei fete, Eliza (Iulia Verdeş), cea care-i va schimba radical percepţia asupra vieţii şi a existenţei sale de Zburător. Eliza este o frumoasă tânără de 22 de ani, cântăreaţă, aflată la debut în industria muzicală. Ea este susţinută şi iubită de Cătălin (George Ivaşcu), fiul patronului unui important trust media, dl. Gelu Stroenescu (Constantin Cotimanis).

Între Zanoni şi Eliza se va înfiripa o poveste de iubire, care o va purta pe fată într-o călătorie iniţiatică în lumea Zburătorilor. Ea se va autocunoaşte, va învăţa să-şi înfrunte fricile şi mai important, îşi va redescoperi trecutul. Astfel, lumea fantastică se va uni cu realitatea, într-o poveste desprinsă, parcă, din nuvelele magice ale lui Mircea Eliade. Filmul „Ultimul Zburător" este o frumoasă poveste de iubire ce transcede timpul şi spaţiul, prezentând o lume fascinantă, uitată de o societate cufundată în întunericul materialismului.
