1. Day of Defeat: Source
Amazing online game, personally prefer this over Counter Strike as I prefer games with objectives and team play.


2. Left 4 Dead 2
Brilliant online, if you havent tried it then you really should have.


3. Team Fortress 2
I love this game I just wish I was better at it!


4. Unreal Tournament 2004
The only online game I really played around the time, this was absolutely stunning.


5. Battlefield: Bad Company 2
This is absolutely incredible to play online, I cant understand the haters of it at all! Ive never played a game that felt so close to being in a real warzone than this.


6. Red Dead Redemption
The multiplayer in this is amazing; hello mexican stand offs at the start of a match? Yes please. Just wish wish wish it was on PC.


7. Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness
Best multiplayer strategy game ever made end of.


8. Battlefield 1942
I really wish they would hurry up and bring bf1943 to pc!


9. Star Wars: Galaxies - An Empire Divided
Only MMO I will include in this list as generally I hate them! Being a huge star wars fan though, this was something else. Being able to own your own ship and fly it around the galaxy and then land it on planets and gut people with lightsabres, epic win.


10. Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
You young FPS whippersnappers may not remember this but it was fantastically good.


11. Half-Life: Counter-Strike
Much better than CS:Source, I actually managed to get pretty good at this and owned people up even on my dial up connection!


12. Tachyon: The Fringe
A lot of you probably never played this online, but its the best space dogfighter game there is.


13. GoldenEye 007
Enough said, king of console FPS games.


14. TimeSplitters
both 1 and 2 were great on multiplayer.


15. Super Mario Kart
Best racing game of all time.


16. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3
Best multiplayer sport game everrrrr.


17. Halo 2
Immense multiplayer.


18. Mortal Kombat
Best beat em up multiplayer.


19. Street Fighter II: The World Warrior
close runner up.
