Care este diferenta dintre will si would?

Will - va; should - ar trebui.

Will devine would sau infinitiv in vorbirea indirecta, in functie se sens:
1) pentru a exprima o cerere, o rugaminte politicoasa:
"Would you do me favour? Vreti sa-mi faceti un serviciu?"

2) Ca forma de Past Tense a lui will, would este folosit pentru a exprima:
a) intentia (in vorbire indirecta): "I said, "I will help her". I said I would help her"
b) intentia negativa (refuzul): "Present: He won't help me. Nu vrea sa ma ajute" sau Past tense: "He wouldn't help me. Nu voia sa ma ajute."

c) Insistenţa, hotararea de a efectua o actiune in trecut: "He would keep silent for hours, no metter what arguments I used."

d) o activitate repetata, un obicei in trecut (would "frecventativ"): "She would wait for me in front of the school gates."

3) Would este folosit si pentru a exprima probabilitatea: "That would be their car. Probabil ca aceea este masina lor. Aceea trebuie sa fie masina lor"

Atentie! Would + rather/sooner + infinitivul scurt este folosit pentru a exprima preferinta:

" I would rather listen to the concert than see the film. I ‘d sooner listen to the concert than see the film.
As prefera sa ascult concertul decat sa vad filmul."

Will este pentru viitor:
You will have a car - vei avea o masina
would este pentru conditional:
I would like to have a car - mi-ar place sa am o masina
