First, we need to assign a static IP to the Ethernet card of our computer since the Whitebox will not boot with DHCP up. Our computer will be 192.168.1.2 with the default subinet mask and we will connect it to one LAN port on the Whitebox.

Next, we are going to boot the Whitebox with a telnet interface, so turn on the router and when the LAN light goes on, press the QSS button repeatedly until you see the second LED blinking like crazy. Now, your White box is 192.168.1.1 and you can ping and telnet it, so open a terminal and connect to the router.

Once you are connected via telnet to the box, just run "mount_root" on the terminal to mount the file system. We are going to transfer the new firmware to the router so we can flash it. I had flashed mine with this Gargoyle build, but you can install the stock one or whatever you want. The easiest way to put it on the router, probably is to run a HTTP or FTP server on the computer and do a wget from the Whitebox.
